If there is a variation in width, it’s an error. Normally one pyrimidine (C, U, or T) will pair up with one purine (A or G). The purine-pyrimidine pair has a constant width. If two pyrimidines paired-up, the helix width would be smaller; if two purines paired-up, the width would be greater. However, this doesn’t normally happen, since the base-pairing is determined by hydrogen bonding characteristics.

1440 degree DNA double helix Rodin coil

I think this is enough information that one needs to build a DNA double helix Rodin coil. Let me know if you do and what experiments you do. I will suggest some experiments later but for now you are on your own, exploring the unknown where the credentialed fear to tread. BTW – Hey Marco Rodin, come on man, I have been trying to contact you to no avail. Feds got you or something? ;-)
